My Twitter name is "mommu"...a name I wear with pride. My kids and I have always been into word fracturing (you know, changing things around a bit so you're saying not-quite-the-right-thing...thereby throwing a humorous twist into the mix. For those of you who remember the song from Pocahontas, "Savages," for example...we changed it to "sandwiches, sandwiches, peanut butter jelly; sandwiches, sandwiches, tuna fish on rye"...etc etc. You get the idea..........).
At any rate...we have always addressed each other by nicknames (you know if you hear your real name, you're probably in trouble!). My kids came up with "mommu" for me many many years ago and I just have really enjoyed that name. Of course, I have a bunch of other nicknames too (no, really...they're all good! The current salutation of use tends to be "mimmy" or "mimbles" or "mimbly"...my girls have, after all, grown up) but "mommu" is just, well...mine. It brings back memories of a younger me with my little kidlets at home :)
Have a peachy day!

Frozen Peaches
Yep, it's cold out there today! It's hard to buy into the global warming thing when this winter has been the coldest and snowiest one in years! If only my family, friends, church, and life weren't all situated in this locale...I'd be in Hawaii for sure!
Well, enough of the griping! Because I like funnies...here's your signs:
Sign over a Gynecologist's Office:
"Dr. Jones, at your cervix."
At a Proctologist's door:
"To expedite your visit please back in."
On a Septic Tank Truck in Oregon :
Yesterday's Meals on Wheels
On another Septic Tank Truck:
"We're #1 in the #2 business"
On a Plumber's truck:
"We repair what your husband fixed."
On another Plumber's truck:
"Don't sleep with a drip. Call your plumber.."
On a Plastic Surgeon's Office door:
"Hello. Can we pick your nose?"
At a Towing company:
"We don't charge an arm and a leg. We want tows."
On an Electrician's truck:
"Let us remove your shorts."
At an Optometrist's Office :
"If you don't see what you're looking for, you've come to the right
place."
On a Taxidermist's window:
"We really know our stuff."
Outside a Muffler Shop:
"No appointment necessary We hear you coming."
In a Veterinarian's waiting room:
"Be back in 5 minutes. Sit! Stay!"

Life's a peach...my philosophy on life
I have earned the nickname of "Peaches" because when people ask me how I am, I usually answer "just peachy!"
But life has not always been so "peachy" for me. I have been through a lot of ups and downs, trials and tribulations, in my life (haven't we all?). The absolute worst times in my life were when we lost our two baby boys at birth. Losing Sammy in 1988 was bad enough, but when the unbelievable happened - losing our second son, James, in 1992 - my life hit rock bottom. True, my husband and I had each other and our two beautiful young daughters, but I was in such misery that I could not feel anything but pain. If any of you have suffered such painful losses, you know of what I speak. For years after James died, I just went "through the motions" of living. I acted on autopilot, barely functioning. Always a person of strong faith from a young age, I could not even communicate with the God whom I felt had abandoned me.
I won't bore you with the details of what happened...they're much too extensive to discuss here anyways. More than two years after James died, Fred and I joined our first network marketing company. What was important about that was the positive people and books we began to be exposed to. Ever so gradually, my zest for living was re-awakened and my relationship with God was re-established. I came across a quote that became my mantra: It's not what happens to us in life, it's how we deal with it. Clearly, I had not been dealing well with my losses and it was time to change that.
So it doesn't matter how tough you have (or have had) it: when life hands you lemons, make lemonade! Enjoy the good times when you have them, cuz you know the sad/bad times are coming. And when they're here...just grin and bear it, cuz the good times are coming back! May your life be "peachy'...smooth and fuzzy, with little eeny pits :)
