My Twitter name is "mommu"...a name I wear with pride. My kids and I have always been into word fracturing (you know, changing things around a bit so you're saying not-quite-the-right-thing...thereby throwing a humorous twist into the mix. For those of you who remember the song from Pocahontas, "Savages," for example...we changed it to "sandwiches, sandwiches, peanut butter jelly; sandwiches, sandwiches, tuna fish on rye"...etc etc. You get the idea..........).
At any rate...we have always addressed each other by nicknames (you know if you hear your real name, you're probably in trouble!). My kids came up with "mommu" for me many many years ago and I just have really enjoyed that name. Of course, I have a bunch of other nicknames too (no, really...they're all good! The current salutation of use tends to be "mimmy" or "mimbles" or "mimbly"...my girls have, after all, grown up) but "mommu" is just, well...mine. It brings back memories of a younger me with my little kidlets at home :)
